The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
An OSSD is a globally recognized high school diploma granted by the Ministry of Education, Ontario, Canada. Upon completing the OSSD, students can apply to reputable universities and colleges in Canada, the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Why OSSD
✓ Flexible Credit System
The credit system works accumulatively and gives students flexibility in choosing subject areas of their interests.
✓ Credits Exemption
Successfully completed courses from the student’s home school can be granted as equivalent OSSD credits.
✓ Broad Pathways
The Ontario Curriculum offers courses in a wide range of disciplines, broadening students’ post-secondary program choices.
✓ Varied Assessments
The final course mark is comprised of 70% term work, and 30% final exam or project. There is no national exam.

The OSSD is recognized by renowned universities worldwide.
✓ Official OEN
An Ontario Education Number (OEN) will be issued to new international students.
Ontario Education Number (OEN) and Ontario Student Record (OSR)
Each student receives an Ontario Education Number (OEN) and will have an Ontario Student Record (OSR) maintained at Canadian Advanced Senior High that maintains student achievement scores, term and final report cards, the Ontario Student Transcript, and any other pertinent academic information about the student. Parents and students 18 years and over may request to view the OSR at any time.
